About Researcher

Kyley Drach is a master’s Student at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in the Environmental Science Program. Her post-secondary education began at TRU in 2009, when she entered the science program with plans to major in Chemical Biology. Two years into her Chemical Biology degree, Kyley took a two-year break to pursue missionary work, at which time she also went to the United States to study Youth Ministry.

After two years of missionary work, Kyley went to Medicine Hat college the following year and obtained her certification in Computerized Bookkeeping. After three years away, Kyley finally decided to return to Kamloops and continue her studies at TRU. She decided to change her major to General Biology and began working on a Studio Art Certificate simultaneously in the Visual Arts department. She graduated from the science program with a major in General Biology in 2019 and continues to work towards her Studio Art Certificate.

In 2020 Kyley began her masters, where she is looking at the effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals and lifestyle choices on the menstrual cycle. After completing her masters at TRU, Kyley hopes to pursue a second masters in Physiotherapy, where she hopes to eventually specialize in pediatric physiotherapy.

Kyley is a strong believer in education and has always joked about making a career out of being a professional student. She is eager to keep learning and hopes to encourage others to do the same, no matter how long it takes to find your passion.
